CEO Story

This Sunshine Coast mother Natalia Michael, the creator, and CEO of No Nasties never dreamed that having 43 allergies would one day result in becoming a ''Millionaire''. Natalia Michael, at the age of 38, developed a profitable business concept out of despair after being hospitalised several times for severe allergic reactions. She started to research what she was eating and drinking right and then transitioned to a more raw and organic-based diet, which provided her with significant advantages for some of the allergies. Later she started to explore what she was applying on her skin and what was in her cosmetics, fragrances, and toiletries. The Covid-19 epidemic "propelled" the Queensland lady into creating 'No Nasties,' a cosmetics company for kids made entirely of organic products. Last year, her sales increased by 30%, and she earned slightly under $1 million, totaling $985,000. Due to continuing lockdowns, revenues have increased even more this year, and she is on course to make $1.3 million.

When the month progressed, they noticed that as parents we're trapped indoors with their children, it became clear that they needed items to keep their children entertained.” No Nasties is now thriving in 26 countries, with 600 outlets across Australia, and Ms. Michael employs five people, including her husband. They transitioned from operating out of their two-car garage to a warehouse in Coolum Beach, near Noosa, two months ago. Ms. Michael's allergies have always been a source of concern for her. “My body went apart at the age of 29,” she recalls. She had so many tests that she felt she was going to die. What she discovered was concerning, particularly given that our skin is our largest organ and that what we apply topically gets absorbed into our bloodstream. It was a no-brainer to convert to all-natural cosmetics, fragrances, and toiletries!  Natalia Michael the delighted mother of two lovely daughters, and for her fifth birthday, her oldest was given a couple of packs of play cosmetics. She investigated the contents list and discovered a slew of chemicals, FD&C colours, and metals! She threw them right away and tried to entice her little princess with some of her mineral makeup. Natalia is so proud to stand behind No Nasties, her third child, which is handcrafted, all-natural, and was designed for parents like herself who are worried about what their children put on.

The Mommy's Struggle

Natalia handled everything on her own during the first year right from packing the orders, physically making the products, handling the buyers, the social media, the accounting, the sales calls, the website, everything, was on her shoulders.  She was both the beginning and the conclusion of everything. Ms. Michael stated that she worked seven days a week as a coping technique for her very ill baby, Ivy, who was wailing "24/7." She was psychologically tired and fatigued, and she needed a respite.

Everything about No Nasties has been thought through thoroughly. No Nasties incorporate recycled cardboard for all the packaging, and each of the packets has a distinct identity and narrative, just like each of our children! Natalia admits that the little ones will love the No Nasties Play Makeup kits and Slick Kids Hair Care, in addition, that parents are now well aware of the fact that their kids arent using any harmful chemicals. The products kids use are organically safe and as parents, she admits it is a kind of relief. Natalia was alone at home all day with her crying baby. Things improved once physicians figured out what was wrong with Ivy. The tiny girl had inherited her mother's genes and was allergic to dairy products.

Sales

No Nasties generated a staggering $129,000 in sales in its first year. For three years, she didn't take a penny from the company.  She needed to buy more to obtain the economies of scale. Natalia states,'' You have to order the additional product every time there is money coming in.” To support their two children, their mortgage, and other living costs, the family of four relied on her husband's salary, which was in the "early six figures." No Nasties sales surged by 80% from June to August this year, when both Sydney and Melbourne were experiencing a lockdown due to the delta strain of the virus, compared to the same period in 2020.
